Dive Location...

The dive program runs daily dive trips to Malaysia’s one and only Pulau Payar Marine Park where the Dive Platform is located, this is where we conduct both the Study portion of the course and the Confined Open Water portion of the course for your Mandatory course requirements.

Penang Scuba Diving offers a complete no fuss comprehensive package for student(s) to start their dive course(s) as well as it’s very convenient traveling arrangements for Pulau Payar Marine Park with such ease for all those living or traveling around Penang.

Pulau Payar Marine Park Platform...

The Floating Reef Platform located (100)meters from the shore (Damai beach at Pulau Payar) The Ferry leaves the Penang Jetty in the morning and takes you direct to this platform. 

You can opt for snorkelling/Fun Dives/DSD Intro/Open Water Diving Course. 
Snorkelling and beginner diving (DSD) Discover Scuba Diving takes place from the platform itself.  
Certified divers can be taken to other dive sites via Dive Boat also from the platform, this is usually the second Dive of the Fun Dive Package. 

There is also an Underwater Observatory from where you get a fish eye view and see the marine life from a glass gallery without getting wet, There are nice & clean Toilets and Showers (Fresh Water) available at the floating platform, packages includes buffet lunch, all Equipment(s) and ferry transports.

Where We Dive...

Payar Island is one of the many islands off mainland Kedah in the Strait of Malacca.  

It is situated North of Penang, a more famous archipelago.  Payar Island status as a marine park offers protection for its diverse marine life.  

Payar Island is also a snorkeling and diving site famous for its corals. The Payar Island Marine Park is situated in the northern part of the Straits of Melaka, 19 nautical miles (35 km) south of Langkawi and encompasses the islands of Payar, Lembu, Segantang and Kaca which are surrounded by coral reefs. 

The marine park teems with a diversity of marine life and vegetation. Many endangered species of fishes and marine organisms live within the sanctuary. Measuring 2 km long and 1/4 km wide, Payar Island is the most popular of the islands as its sheltered waters are ideal are for snorkelling, diving and swimming. Among the dive spots is the "Coral Garden", an area covered with bright, multi-hued soft corals.

Pulau Payar Island Beaches...

There are several sandy beaches on Payar island for picnics as well as hiking trails for those who wish to explore the island. 

Just off the beach, one can indulge in the experience of feeding baby sharks. 

Facilities include gazebos, picnic tables, barbecue pits and restrooms at selected areas. 

There is also a Visitors' Centre that provides information about the marine park. 

Pulau Payar Marine Park Scuba diving is very popular there are plenty of coral dive sites and a wide variety of marine life.

Visitors can get to Payar Island from the Penang jetty point (Swettenham Pier).

Penang Island Ferry Port...

Swettenham Pier (5.4187, 100.34499) is the port located on the northeastern tip of George Town. It comprises Swettenham Pier and the newly completed Swettenham Cruise Terminal.

Swettenham Pier was established in 1903, at the height of shipping activity in the Penang Ports. It was named after Frank Athelstane Swettenham (1850-1946), the first Resident General of the Federated Malay States between 1896 and 1901. The port in Klang was named Port Swettenham in his honor.
